My passion for color,line and direct, textural application are most accessible in pastel and oil painting. I enjoy playing in watermedia as well. My subjects include anything that I can paint in colors that I want the world to see!
Since I was a small girl growing up in the Air Force, I have always loved color and line. As a kid, I hated “coloring pretty”—the soft, neat coloring was not nearly expressive enough. I love BOLD color and especially the juxtaposition of pure color and direct, textural application possible in pastel painting, oil painting and watercolor. My childhood was spent in numerous places, both in the U.S and from Japan to England. This broad cultural exposure gave me an interest in diverse subjects, from my first love of gardens and flowers, to animals, landscapes, portrait and figures.
My husband and I owned and operated Mountain Majesty Workshops fine art school in Cloudcroft, NM, from1995 to 2005. I now teach classes at my SpiritBird Studio in High Rolls and for other art schools and groups.
